did you follow the instructions on the eecis.udel.edu/~davis/z28/ecm_swap/ website?
i must be electronically challenged as some instructions from the repinning page are very confusing, especially when they (the instructions) are talking about splicing.
any additional insight would be greatly appreciated as i am to the point where i need clarification to complete the swap.
thanks for the help - this is a wonderful resource for this hobby
the identification of the splicing steps is unclear and also there is mention of a"new" c12 and then later there's mention "remove-unused"
would you be amenable to a phone call say monday to discuss in more detail? if so email me off line with your phone number and i'll call you. my email is johndezman@hotmail.com
Are you doing this for tuning purposes (i.e. burning your own calibration), wanting a faster refresh rate for scan/logging data, or because you just want to? Reason I ask, and I know this wasn't your question, but a lot of us 85 owners went to the 730. It is actually a LOT cheaper in the future considering the price of a new MAF.
But I also understand that you might be set on using the 165. Let us know. -Matt-

Do you have to get a new MAF when converting to the 165???
i bought a manifold, harness, fuel pump air cleaner, mass air etc from a 85 and also purchased the '87 '165 computer. i understood the '165 had a faster baud rate which influenced the number of samplings and because the chip had more memory more locations on the fuel map compared to the '85 computer. the engine wiring harness is/has already been modified per the instructions from the guy at udel web site.
shop doing work is telling me that the connectors for the digi dash do not plug into the '87 computer yet today i've talked to both fuel injection specialties and howell engine development and they tell me it should plug in!
getting confused and wanting the car back on the road......any first hand help appreciated.
