Default 91 under-hood work light wiring

It appears that there is a manual switch that a previous owner has installed to manually enable/disable the underhood work lights. I have known about this for some time, but only recently realized that this may be a problem. Here are some pics:

1 - wiring at the passenger side

2 - As it runs across the nose

3 - Where the driver side light ties in

4 - The switch

This is obviously not standard stuff (what with all of the cable ties). However, I can't tell how it *should* go. I am concerned with the nose because it is apparently blocking the blow-through hole for the main radiator. I've never had cooling problems, but it's not exactly giving me a warm fuzzy feeling. I did not see on the either side where it would go "normally", like a harness missing wires, or something obvious. The FSM smudge drawings aren't much help either. Does anyone know how wiring is supposed to get across the center and tie in on each side?

Just checked mine, and from the connector on the drivers side, the harness runs under the air filter and behind the radiators, through the frame, to the other side. Goes in and comes out of the square hole in the frame.

I ran the wiring that goes across under the radiator/fan support. Looks like the PO ran it straight across in front rather than snaking it behind.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I assume the square hole you are reffering to is the access hole for the front fog lights? It looks like it would be possible to go through there assuming there is nothing inside in the middle.

It boggles my mind why they went to such an effort to run so much wiring instead of just jumping one light off of the other and running some wire across one of the support indentions on the hood. Surely there is a reason.

on my 90 that crossover wire is attached to the front frame rail crossbar that the impact bumper bolts to.
