Default Ground Wire??

I have found a braided ground wire that is only connected at one point and was wondering where to reconnect the other end? I have a'94 LT1. The connected end is located on the drivers side on the frame below the battery. the open end is hanging underneath the car without the connector. I cannot locate a bolt with a broken connector attatched anywhere under the car. Any ideas where it might go?

I'm pretty sure it connects to the trans bellhousing, just above the oil filter. Is secured by one the bellhousing's bolts.

Cool thanks. Do you know if it is all by it's self or is it bolted on with any other grounds?

I think something else goes there, too, if I remember correctly. On my '96 there are 2 sets of grounds in that area - one on the side of the block, and another to a bolt on the bellhousing.

In this picture you can see that strap coming up to where it bolts onto the bellhousing:

That's exactly the wire I have loose. Thanks for the help and the pics. I couldn't tell exactly where it bolts to in the pic but I get the general idea. Thanks soooooo much. I must say, that is one CLEAN car you have there. I'm jealous. not fair. lol.

Now if only I could get the cruise fuse to stop blowing I'd have the car back to perfect working order.

Thanks again,
-Dave

Thanks much! The bellhousing bolt at the very top of the picture just right of center is where it goes. The bolt has a stud on it that the grounds go to, which are then held on by a nut.

Good luck!

Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to reattach it sometime later in the week. Hopefully Tuesday.

Victory is mine! Thanks for the assistance with the locations and the great picture. Gotta say the time it took me was horrible. I should have dropped the exhaust it would have taken the same time and would have been less irritating. absolutely no room to get tools and move them. Oh well no sense beating a dead horse, jobs done and I'm ready to chill.
