I installed the granatelli spark wires, and the box and the website state the following; These plug wires have a special interference protection ring at the coil connection that virtually eliminates radio and other electrical interference problems.
I am having lot of interference problems. The stock Bose system has constant static, and the computer and dash are going nuts. Any suggestions other than pulling the wires out, which I am not too excited about doing.
I have a 1992 coupe, and the spark plugs are Bosch platinum 4s.
I take it that the interference you experience is spark interference (a tick tick tick noise in the radio everytime a plug fires). The best plug wires for attenuating spark interference are conventional wires that have a carbon center conductor which does almost nothing for the spark plug current, but offers high loss to radio frequency radiation. If you still have OEM wires which are carbon center, you could try a swap and see if the interference goes away.
I am having a constant buzz once the radio is turned on. Additionally, the dash is going nuts. It shows anything, but once the engine is not running it performs fine. The wire are affecting the CCM.
That is not spark interference. Engine running, unplug the alternator and if all the interference stops, then you have an oscillating voltage regulator inside the alternator. These can be replaced. Let us know what happens.
I received a reply from technical support at Granatelli, and they said to change the coil wire from the Granatelli solid core to the "old" AC Delco. I did that any my radio interference went away and the speedo is working fine again.
I hope that it lasts, it would have been a PITA to change out the wires.
