Default Fuel pressure Irregulaities

I put in a new Aeromotive adjustable fuel regulator #13106 10 days ago as I was not getting th 43 psi needed on my 93 LT1. It was only getting 33-34 with a new oem napa replacement. assoon as I turned the key on several time it went to 44 and remaine that way after starting engine. I adjusted it to the 43. It seemed to be quite an improvement. After talking to Jon Banner from F.I.C. he said I could bump it up a couple lbs as my reason is for better fuel mileage. Went to do that on Saturday and pressure was at 60! I don't understand the increase. I again readjusted down to 43. Yesterday I checked it again and it was upto 52 and about 56 when I pull the vacuum line off. This morning I turned the key on after setting all night even though engine still felt warm (6 hours off) and went to the 52 psi. But also noticed that the pressure bleed off and was not holding. Would the injector be damaged now as it probably ran for a couple of days driving at the higher pressure?

Another question, when I had the fuel pump out I think there was a small vent hole in the neck of the filler tube, can that be enlarged so you can fill it up easier as you have to wait for the tank to bleed off to reach equilibrem in the filler neck vs the rest of the tank. Gaug is not dropping as quick as it use to also.
