There is a steel rod that extends below the reverse lockout ring to prevent the shifter from going into reverse. That rod had one side that had a slot worn into it from 70,000 miles worth of shifts. I rotated that rod 180 degrees in the lockout ring so it could wear on the opposite side until I get the stainless steel version installed.
