Will I be able to do this for around $500?
New valve gaskets(if I buy the gaskets myself) and new brakes? I could probably do the brakes myself, but might as well do it while im there. Thanks! :cheers:

Should be able to. I guess it depends on the thickness of your rotors. If they are below minimum specs then they should be replaced as well.

It's tedious getting the valve covers off a L98. Get some FelPro PermaSeals if you do it.
When I do brakes on a car with some mileage I like to do rotors, calipers and pads at once. Also flush the fluid as it picks up moisture over time.

In brake parts for new rotors and pads it sould run you around $500. Prolly less, but that is a conversivtive estimate. ($90x2 for front rotors, $80x2 for rear rotors. $100 for front pads and $90 for rear pads). Thats right about what it cost me when I did my brakes.

You mean $15, don't you? I think I spent about $15 or so for the Felpro synthetic valve cover gaskets.
