Thanks I browesed the threads but there is no template or exactly what you have to do. Lt1intake had all that as files good pros and cons on the links though.

A hole for the dist and thread the rear coolant passages each side for fittings.
The dist hole position is not that crucial because the dist is supported in the block itself ; it is more to do with oil leaks. Some have just made a template off a stock intake and used that to transpose position onto the LT1 for drilling.
Started on mine but got good deal on a MR so didn't finish.I welded a alum block where the dist hole should be and was going to get it machined to the correct angle so I didn't need the angled spacer. Also gave more "meat" to thread in the hold down bolt.

Be careful. There has been somebody to use a converted LT1 intake, and the distributor didn't mesh deep enough with the oil pump drive rod and at high rpm's it cost him a motor.

An old post, but I found copies of some of the lt1intakes.com info on my computer and posted it up in case anyone is still trying to do this mod.

I STRONGLY suspected that (high-lighted above ) was wrong when I first read it in another of your posts. That's why I posted there asking you to elaborate.

The posted link on this thread verified my suspicion.

Default depends what meaning of 'is' is

oem intakes have a 1.375'' hole, the dizzy o.d. is 1.250''...is that 'crucial' locating by the manifold hole ?

or is it not ?
