Default Comp 1.6 roller rockers

I'm not very mechanically inclined (being young I suppose) but I am considering putting 1.6 roller rockers on my 1995 LT1, is it as simple as unbolting the old ones and just torque the new ones on, or is there more that I would need to do? Thanks for the help

Nick

Quite a bit more to it. The search function is your friend. So is a service manual.

You should also replace the valve springs when going to 1.6. That means readjusting the valves. Like Badduck said it would be best to research it and get a FSM.

money is the key, because you have a good base to start with, you are already leaps ahead of the l98 version.

you are going to have to dig deeper into the car for more real performance gains.
headers, cam, gears, maybe even heads.

If you remove the rockers you have to adjust the lifters anyway regardless of whether you change the springs.

Congrats on the Vette. Man I'm jealous, if I were driving to school in Vette, I bet some of my high school memories would be quite a bit different

Don't give up so easy man. This is a really good mod for your engine and not all that difficult. The most difficult part is changing out the springs, and that really isn't that difficult, just more teadious than anything else. Read up man, there is a butt load of info on this forum as well as books out there on building these engines.

Most major parts stores have tool rental for things like spring compressors. You could do this in a day if you have your knowledge together. And you will like the result.

Haha LT4 obsessed its pretty cool just sometimes you get the jealous kind of people who say things like spoiled and that kind of stuff (paid for by myself by the way). This is a job that I have considered for a while now, I just have to read up on this and see all the processes I have to go through and then get to cracking lol.
