Low temp fan switch info needed
How many of you have installed a low temp fan switch?
I was looking at the 200 switch
I don't like my vette getting up to 227 before the fans kick on.I live in florida and when sitting in trafic it stays hot unless I use the air than the fans run all the time.
With this swith will the fans still come on when I turn the air on even before the 200 deg.
Anyone have any problems installing or with these switches
Thanks

(Best way because fans will still run at normal temp if switch fails )
If you wire it standalone then the only thing that will turn the fans on is the switch itself.
Looking back I would just get the PCM tuned especially on your 95 since you can likely gain a few ponies at the same time by tuning for 93 octane fuel. If your car is automatic they can also firm up the shifts at the same time.
PCM For Less is highly regarded by many, I have used Ion Soltan

Reprogramming is the way to go. also 95/96s operate different then earlier C4s...they run in tandem and have a low and high speed contolled entirely by the ECM by monitoring the ECT sensor which is used for closed loop and fuel trim. I don't see how.... short of replacing the ECT w/one of different temp/resistance range (which would also change fuel trim) you would maintain the low and high speed functions. If the 95 came factory equipped with a seperate fan temp sensor i could see it working fine but IMO it doesn't. Go for the reprogamming or leave it alone. JMO

I would guess your digital dash's coolant temperature never gets below 194 F (the stock thermostat's typical 'water pump' coolant temperature).
That temperature is derived from a sensor mounted in the water-pump.
However, in a 1995, the temp in the water pump will always be lower than other parts of the engine (e.g. where this switches sensor might be installed) as cooler water is being mixed with the engine hotter water therein.
