Many, many years ago as a kid, (about 1965), I did an upgrade on my Ole Chevy and replaced the vacuum wipers with electrics. The guy at the shop where I bought the parts also sold what amounted to a hopped-up blower and motor for the heater. As I could hear mine run but it didn’t seem to move hardly any air, I bought one. I never knew what was special about the blower, just that it sure put a bunch of air out. So much that my buddy used to joke that if I put it on defrost and turned it up, it would mess your hair up.
Today my 85 C4 Coupes blower doesn’t move much air either. As a kid, I didn’t know about line loss in ductwork and the Vette probably has plenty of restriction built in, but I’d sure like to move more air. Has anyone installed a blower that moved more air than the standard wimpy one? If so, how did it workout, what did you use?
Thanks,
Dave
Several things
Is the motor running at full capacity? Hot wire it and see if it runs any faster.Could be a problem with the speed controls.
Debris in the evap core will restrict air flow.Has this ever been cleaned?
All air goes through the core regardless of whether it is on heat or cool
