Default Wheel dilemma

I feel I'm getting too much BS, not enough pertinent information to make a knowledgeable purchase of a set of C6-ZO6 replica rims for my 96 CE.
I've been told that the bolt pattern and offset for 88 thru 04 Corvettes are the same, the rims are interchangable as long as it's not a real C5-ZO6.
I want to put 17X9.5's on the front and 18X9.5's on the rear........Here's what I run into.

For a 18X9.5" wheel the bolt pattern is 5x4.75" or 5x120.65mm, offsets are: +56mm with a 6.95" back spacing and a center bore of : 70.7mm
if the rim width is under 10". Same for a 17X9.5" wheel, if the rim width is under 10"

When I go to look at wheels "anywhere" I run into "Oh no, those wont fit, you have to buy the $400 each ones or they wont fit right, you cant use the $200 ones you were looking at........or I need some such of an adapter or some thing else. Zip Corvette has a set I want listed for C5's (17X9.5's and 18X9.5's) fits non ZO6 cars, but not listed for C4's. I call ZIP to ask "will the fit a 96 C4" and I get "I dunno"? Duh ! I'm starting to feel like the Aflac duck here.........any ideas are more than welcome.

Have you looked at OE Wheels on ebay? Might check them as they have aftermarket wheels. Hope this helps you out

If you post a link to the "specific" wheel package you want I believe I can answerr your question BUT you need to be specific with the package that you're interested in. There's not really a "catch all" answer for you! I understand back-spacings and offsets! What tire sizes are you anticipating? A responsible answer requires just a bit more information!

A quick question! Why are you so interested in runnning a 17/18 combination both at 9 1/2" width? If you're dead set on the 9 1/2" width I don't understand why you wouldn't want to do a 4 of one or the other!

I am running `96 wheels on my `87 without spacers/adapters. I had it parked right next to a stock `95 coupe. Neither me or the owner of the `95 could really tell a big enough difference to justify buying adapters. I am running 245/40/Zr17 eagle GTs on 17x9.5 all around.

The replica C6 wheels will fit.

17x8.5 and 18x9.5 were the standard OEM C5 Corvette wheel sizes which fit perfectly on the 88-96 C4 Vettes. The 56mm offset is the standard OEM C4 Corvette offset for the 9.5" wheel width which came standard front and rear on the 88-92 Vette's.

Order the wheels and you'll be Happy!

I wouldn't be so hasty with the "conclusion"!

The 9.5 wheel for a C5 rear "factory fit" is I'm quite sure a 65mm offset and when installed on a C4 would suck the wheel/tire combination in something near 1/2"!

FIT yes! HAPPY? MAYBE NOT!!

Notice I mentioned wheel/tire "combination" - the FINAL FIT appearannce is the wheel/tire "fitment" in the wheelhouse.

There's considerable thought required to buy for "fitment"!!

I thank all who have contributed, if I seemed happy with GKK's reply I was, he helped me decide when I buy my new wheels to just stick with the stock wheel configuration that came with the car of 17X9.5's, 56mm offset and 7.4" backspacing so I wont possibly mess with the suspension geometry and it will still sit the same.......thank you all again.

The wheel sizes you listed are the correct sizes that will fit on your 96 Vette. Any 9.5" wide wheel with a 54mm-56mm offset will fit Perfectly front and rear.

My 91 Vette has reproduction 17x9.5 C5 ZO6 wheels with a 54mm offset which fit Perfectly front and rear. I wanted to buy the OEM ZO6 wheels but, the Tire choices and cost for the rear 18x10.5 wheel was Very expensive!
