Default Is ZZ4 cyl head direct replacement?

Hi

Can i replace my 1990 L98 cyl heads with:
GM Performance 12556463 - GM Performance ZZ4 Aluminum Cylinder Heads?(not looking for more performance).

I know both have the same casting no: 113, but can i use my old rockers? GM Performance site says "Use rail type rockers P/N 10089648"

and

"Exhaust ports are raised .100".
I guess this is the same as my old heads since they both are 113 castings?

Do they have all atacthment points as my old heads?

My old cyl heads are leaking coolant, and instead of spending money on them i am considering replacing them.

Thanks
Raymond

they are the same head but have lt4 springs on them instead of the factory L98 spring. your stock rocker arms are rail style so they would work.. for the money i would buy a better set of heads than those.

Thanks!

What other types of heads would you suggest?
I am going to use my stock intake manifold, plenum and runners.

i unlike others am not going to sit back and tell you buy brand x head... depends on your budget and what hp goals you are looking to reach which it doesn't really seem like you are cause you are only looking into factory castings.

If youre never going to upgrade the intake not sure if aftermarket heads are worth it for you. How much are the heads

Does a '90 cylinder head have a 58cc combustion chamber also? Wouldnt other heads other than the ZZ4 or expensive ones lower compression?

A set of Patriots would be much less, pick up some power too.
Heck even some Edelbrock performers will improve it for about $1000/pair and are better imo than the GM heads.

Are the heads cracked or is just the gasket blown? If the heads are good otherwise, and you're not going to go crazy with mods, it's not an expensive fix if you DIY.

As noted the ZZ4 head is exactly the same as the "113" with better springs

At that sort of money you could get a set of TFS 175 heads
56cc give you a nice little CR boost at no more cost than the ZZ4's

Here are your stock GM replacement heads through Summit
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/NAL-12556463/

Trick Flow 175 a step up for sure

Edit
Just called Summit...Edelbrock 60859 are $1309 a pair, wow they have gone up $300/pr since last time I checked.
Maybe shop around and see if there are some for less but Summit is usually the lowest or one of them.
I wouldnt spend that much on them, youre in the $ range of a real nice AFR which is probably overkill for what you have.

See if we can find a link and see what Patriot offers, Trick Flow so far looks like the best for the $ so far.
