The way I did it was to use terminal bolts with a stud on them for adding accessories. I have a NAPA number of 728221, although you shouldn't have a problem finding them at most parts stores and then you can use the harness supplied with the Battery Tender that has the ring terminals and mount it right to the bolts.

Used the exact same hook up through Gills and when cruizin' loop end back thru around slit in Gills.
