Well fellas, I found the rough running problem. It was a disconnected air hose to exhaust pipe reducing and oxidizing catalysists. REal hard to see. But teh car is running a bout 95 % now ... YEH... The disconnected 1/8 hose is still a mystery!!! I stopped by a place called BEN Cook Racing and he gave me some advise which allowed me to stumble onto this. :flag Thanks for all of your support. I will now begin to follow some of the other advise to fix the 5% problem..

Since this correction I have my service engine light comming on, how do I eliminate it. An what needs to be done?

Default 86 Corvette convertible.

Just over a week ago I purchased my first Corvette, original paint, original top.............original everything! Mileage is 62300.
I have had many cars including 69 Camaro Pace car, of all the many cars I've owned I have fallen in love with only 3, 78 Camaro LT, my 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 which I still have, and of course my latest Baby, 'Sweetheart'.................have always wanted a Corvette and the wait has been worth it!

Just like Charles, I have exactly the same problem of rough running and truly appreciate your forum to determine my problem.
I'll check out all your suggestions and report back in a couple of weeks along with pix of my new and wonderful acquisition!
Many thanks again guys............John (Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan)

John, welcome to the forum, this post you pulled up is 9 years old. I wondered why I didn't recognize most of the people in the thread....WW
