I wish in some ways we were still in the old world. To them in the know. I have added a supercharger and a couple other mods. Is it necessary to have the computer tuned ? We here in Utah have no one that can do it on a dyno,at least that I can find, and I get reports that if you just send in your box that you are really just getting a generic program. If this is the case is that better than nothing. We do have a dyno man that tunes imports, so I could get info such as air/fuel ratio. I wecome all suggestions along with contacts of anyone who could help... JUST CONFUSED-- THANKS ALL.
If you're going to send it in to get programmed, Ed wright has been talked about very highly on this board. I think the website is http://www.fastchip.com
Yep, you definitely need a computer reprogram when adding a SC. Ed Wright is who everyone recommends, and those that have had him do theirs haven't said anything bad yet!
How much boost are you running? Do you have an aftercooler? Were any of your other mods forged pistons? Still have stock compression ratio?
It's hard to tell from your post what you currently have. Did you install a kit that included fuel and spark management devices and a large fuel pump or are you planning to add large injectors and manage everything through programming?
It's one thing to need a little tuning, but if you have not addressed the spark and fuel control issues during the installation, you probably shouldn't exceed around 3,000 rpm. Tic tic tic boom.
