He was right about the wires but wrong about shutting down cylinders. A 95 with OBDI has no way of isolating missfire to a particular cylinder and thus no way of "shutting down" said cylinder.

INJECTORS
Check the resistance across each injector cold and hot. I do not know the resistance for your 91 (13 ohms???).
If you going to work on these C-4 buy a FSM (field service manual), otherwise you are guessing and throwing parts at a problem.
