miss/stall after warm up
Fuel Filter
Opti
Plug wires
Water Pump
EGR valve
both Cats and 02 sensors (cats are direct fit)
various vacuum hoses that were spongy
Trans filter, gasket, fluid
injectors appear to be ok 12.5 - 12.7 ohms cold and 12.9 - 13.0 hot
fuel pressure regulator seems to be working ok, I pulled the vacuum hose and no fuel present or fuel smell.
vacuum hold fairly steady at idle between 17.5 and 18.0 inches
According to the voltage readout on the dash I vary between 14.2 and 14.7 volts at all times
My ECM did store a 13 code before the cats and 02 replacement, and a 16 and 36. The chevy/vette dealer did the opti/water pump replacement and I have no reason to believe that anything is wrong with the Opti.
I noticed yesterday that the fuel gauge registered between an 1/8 and 1/4 tank, but after driving a couple of miles the reserve light came on going around a corner and back off after straightening out. So I'm thinking that maybe the problem is associated with the fuel pump, maybe strainer, or maybe even the pump overheating, not enough fuel to provide cooling? So I fill up with Shell 93, drive a bit more, not miss, and park for the night. I took her out this morning for a drive, and decided to hit the 1 mile straightaway and open her up and see if it misses at higher RPM while it's still around 150 degrees and then try the same thing again after warming up to around 200 degrees. Both times she ran great without a miss or stall, I drove about 20 miles or so at temp without a miss or stall, she ran great.
The only thing I know for sure is the wife confiscated my checkbook and pulled the air matress from the closet, and my expertise is with computers and not fixing cars. Can anyone offer up any suggestions, they would be appreciated. Sorry about the long winded post but I figured the more info I gave the better.
