Default rust on a C-4s?

Hey Guys, I have a 1979 vette and have been hanging out in the C-3 forum for 6-7 years. I have an opportunity to buy a 1986 vette for a decent price. It has high milage and needs work but that does not bother me. My question is, are there any major things to look our for on C-4's. My concern is rust. I know where to look on older vettes but are there any areas on C-4's that I should look out for. Any other things to look out for? Thanks in advance.

Yes, there are areas that can rust. On my 84, the A pillar weatherstrip had apparently been leaking for some time, and my windshield frame had a lot of rust. I had it repaired when the car was painted in 2001.

It also had some rust in the hood hinge area that the body shop fixed at that time. Other than that, I haven't found any rust in 12 years of ownership.

check under the battery tray, found some surface rust there on my 96; stabilized with jabsco metal prep followed with rustoleum. no other rust found (california central valley car).
