Default best way to refill cooling system

all but done changing hoses and other stuff on 90 vette what is the best way to make sure all the air is out of the system

Loosen rad cap
Start motor and bring up to a temp that will open stat
Remove rad cap
Reach over and hold throttle around 2000 rpm
While holding throttle, fill rad with coolant
Put rad cap on
Release throttle

you haven't done so already drill one or two small (3/16" or so) holes in the rim of the thermostat too.
