Default Air Intake situation

After years of sitting I finally have my car on the road again, and running as it should be. The only issue I have is with my intake, and a stuck throttle body. I have an old Breathless Vortex Rammer that is cracked in a few places, and is missing some plastic around where the filter is. If anyone is on the fence about buying one of these I would strongly suggest you reconsider.

So I really don't want to get another box because I hear they have not improved it, but I'm kinda stuck with the hole in my shroud and something needs to fill that hole. Does anyone have any ideas on a decent alternative for my situation? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Also, my TB sticks at idle (right around 1500 rpm). I have to lift the hood and rev it manually to get it to go down to 900 or so. Anything I can do to fix this without buying a new TB? This is an aftermarket 52mm bought thru MORE Performance.

Thanks,
Mike

I've seen people cut their shroud and use the triple cone thing.

Do you have a link?

Any other thoughts on this? Is this my only option? I really don't want to get another vortex box if they haven't improved the quality. I'm also hearing Breathless might be going out of business.

Thanks,
Mike
