c3 guy needs help on fixin' c-4
got a 91 coming to the garage, guy says it starts and runs fine but cuts off after 20 mins. of driving and wont start again for about an hour, then run fine again for another 20 mins. what could this be? anyone experience this? he claims he's changed several sensors.

Two things to look at first that can cause this problem, injectors failing after they get hot, or a bad ignition module. I would check module first its not a lot of money to get a replacement

Any codes? If not I'd check ignition coil and ICM first

do i need a code reader or can i use the ignition to pull codes through the dash lights?

With a paperclip in the ADL you can pull the codes...

could also be fuel pump after it gets hot.. ck for fuel pressure when it fails.

Some of the big box autoparts stores will check your ICM and coil for free if you carry them into the store.. However, often you get what you paid for.
