Hey guys just a quick question, I am pulling my tranny right now on my 92 LT-1 and need to disconnect the T.V. cable to get it out. What do I need to do? It's the only thing left to pull. Help!
Remove the bolt that holds the tv cable to the top of the trans case (10mm head I think). Pull up on the cable and disconnect the linkage. It is shaped like an S or a hook (can't remember). It's not hard to do.

If his is like mine then what you describe is exactly how it is done......takes about 2 minutes.
...except that I just pulled a trans on a buddies '85 and I could find the 'little hook'. I pulled up on that SOB until I could get it any higher, and I never did see the hook or the eye that it goes into. I finally gave up and unhooked the cable from the Throttle body and snaked it out w/the trans.

Something was wrong there.....
When you got the tranny out did you find it then?? It is sorta spring loaded......so when you pull up on it, and it is in the right position, you should see it.

I know. I've done many of them and usually you don't need to pull up very far to get the hook undone. In this case, I just plain couldn't FIND the hook. I never did find it, b/c we were only replacing the flex plate. The trans never left the trans jack, and I swapped the plate, and slapped the trans back up in there. I DO wonder WTF was up w/that thing. Something else is "fishy" w/that TV cable assembly too, b/c that car shifts at ~4500 RPM...with a 245 @ .050 cam.
