96 LT4 EVAP problems

96 LT4 EVAP problems
I've been trying to fix an EVAP problem for a while now. Might be time to just take it to the mechanic...............naw, not yet.
DTC code P1441 keeps popping up. I've replaced the evap purge sol valve, evap purge vac switch, evap vacuum control solenoid........and have checked and replaced any marginal vac lines I could find. Still not fixed.
I blew some air through the vacuum line that goes from the engine to the passenger rear/EVAP canister, and heard a loud hissing. I took the evap canister off, and air readily leaks from one of it's ports..........is it supposed to do that, or does it need to be replaced? There is a vac line in and vac line out that do not leak, but the port that doesnt have a vac line does readily allow pressure to pass (isn't this system supposed to be a closed system?

I'm just not exactly sure how it does it.
