Opti life (93 coupe)
What is the shortest life you've ever gotten out of a new opti? I put one in a while back, and only got a little less then a 1000 miles before it went out. It didn't get wet. I just couldn't believe it went out that quickly! It was a new GM opti. This has to be some kind of a record. Or is this common? What a poor design!

On my 92 I've got almost 6000 miles so far on my Dynaspark replacement opti and its still runing fine.

I had an MSD opti fail while loading it onto the trailer to take the car home after installing it. Well...it threw codes. I guess it actually failed (car stopped running) about a mile later.

Mine failed after about 30 minutes. The stupid tiny screws that hold the rotor in place backed out and trashed it.
I took the next one apart before installing it and put Loctite on the screws to keep them from backing out.
