it's welded on but is replaceable...GM p/n 14090676... gr 7.010... MEMBER, Frt Cr Bar Tie...was under $30 back/day (probly 2x if still available), may be 'discontinued' by now, check your local dealer...peabay vette parts shops sell 'em now for abt $100 WITH the front frame 'horns', simple to cut the frame horns off/grind smooth.
try to get it on level before you weld, the factory DID NOT on most.
the left corner of mine was bent in kinda bad & then the center was pushed in towards the air cleaner. I just used a come along and tied it to a trucks bumper and straightened mine.
the bar is actually spot welded to the frame rails but I would think getting a new one aligned perfectly would be a hassle so I would say just try straightening it the best you can and then use shims to get the bumper right.
heres how mine was after banging on it and pulling it and even like this my bumper lines up fine now. My car had main skid bar damage & inner impact bumper damage and thats what caused most of the alignment issues not this front bar.
