Default idling problem

hi,

my '91 engine dies in idle, I have ~45 psi on the fuel ramp, put new injectors, new spark wires, new fuel pump+filters and check the injectors with light, all seems to be ok, any hints ? may be a problem with the idle senesor or any sensors ?

thanks,
Dan

Does it run OK otherwise? Probbably an idle air valve. But check for vacuum leaks and do a search of setting basic idle speed.

Sounds like the IAC is gummed up. Take it out and clean it and the channels that feed it. Carb cleaner works, and you will also need new gaskets. Check for vacuam leaks first...WW

As others mentioned, the IAC should be your first check. I was tossing vacuum and EGR valve into the mix because they too can cause an engine, even a strong V8, to die at idle. If an EGR valve is sticking in the open position due to carbon build up, for example, then it will act like a big vacuum leak and the engine will die.
