Default TPS Sensor Question (92 LT1)

Alrighty

TPS voltage is approx .54 with throttle closed. At WOT its pushing between 3.6 and 3.8 volts. FSM says at WOT it should be near 5 volts.

I went and grabbed a new sensor (Duralast) tossed it on there , same thing.

I then pulled the sensor off the car, plugged it in turned it with a screwdriver and it does indeed range all the way to 5.0 volts at the end of its travel.

Why can I not get 5.0 volts while its on the TB? Am I missing something here? It is not adjustable so even if I slotted out the holes then the TPS voltage will be high at idle then possibly range to 5.0 volts at WOT.

Do i need to ditch the duralast sensor and get a GM one ?

Thanks!

Are you sure the TB is opening fully ? At one point my TV cable was not letting the throttle cable go wide open, had to adjust.

The first thing I would check. It is fairly common.
