Default Head temp sensor/connector (L-98)

Is there a better solution to this POS connector/sendor?

The plastic melted off of it, so now I only have the wire with the metal slip over piece. This thing is a joke, it falls off when I do any work over there. It is a PITA to get back on with little space in there.

is there some home mod or something I can do to get a better connector on it? another sensor perhaps?

This is the one between #1 and #3 cylinder? Mine disintegrated also. I don't know how, but it was just hanging there, and somehow my front wheel caught it and yanked it completely out of it's harness. I am gonna see if I can track down a new one at the dealer or if not, canibalize it of an old car.

well same thing, at least connection wise??? (Fan switch on the older L98's between 1 and 3?)
on my 90 it is on the passenger side between 6 and 8. it goes to the H2O temp gauge inside.
Sometimes I look over and I have no temp.... :mad

Seems to me that whole set up is hokey.

I would get a new sender and solder a wire to the sensor and then use heatshrink or Electrical thape to cover it.. then get a weather pack connector similar to the O2 or the EST Bypass and wire it in place of the current set-up

it may work better

I picked up a brand spanking new connector from Ecklers for a whopping $5. Worked beautifully.
