Default Adjustable Torque Arm?

Hi gang, I don't actually own a Vette just yet but plan to in the future. Anyway,
I am currently building a '56 Belair with a C4 rear suspension (with a D-36 :o )

Does anyone currently make an adjustable Torque Arm that will fit the rear C4 diff mounting pad?

I've searched and googled and can only fins such an item for the Fbody guys. Which leads me to another question. Has anyone tried an Fbody torque arm on a C4?

Thanks!

Dan

I have a 3rd gen F body and the torque arm is very different from a C4 C beam. Not even close. Third member on a C4 is in a fixed location so I see no way to use an adjustable beam.

Dan, sounds like a nice project -
You didnt mention what trans you are going to use.
Irregardless, you will not need the c beam or the torque arm if you are using a trans mounted to the crossmember.
If you are making the power to need a t-arm you better go with something stronger then a d36.

Diff is mounted like this in 55 - 57 ; the C beam is used in the C4's to hold the rear of the trans up because there is no trans X -member

Well, that answers that. I have a lot of learning to do I guess. I was under the impression the torque arm played a critical role in the geometry of the rear end.

Ok, well, thanks guys.

It does. It keeps the dif housing from trying to rotate. The batwing by itself will not keep the pinion angle constant. If you look at the pic above, the dif housing is mount rigid to the frame.

On F bodies the whole rearend moves so the long toque arm helps keep the diff from rotating as it goes up and down. You just have to make sure the diff on the Vette suspension doesnt rotate like in the picture above. You dont need a long torque arm.
