What are my options for getting a little firmer shift?

Trans shift kit.
Is your TV cable adjusted correctly? That controls the shift firmness

Be very very careful about trying to adjust the TV cable to better your shifts. Just ask me how I know not to play with it. Just adjust it by pressing in the little lever to release it, then smash the peddle to the floor (engine off) and it is properly adjusted. Make sure your TB can go to wide opened throttle or you will not get a proper adjustment or you will be rebuilding your tranny shortly.

One simple thing to do to improving shifting to to do a tranny fluid exchange. Unbelievable what a difference that can make alone. Other than that - get a shift kit.

Let me add a missing step. When you press in the tab to release the lock on the cable, pull the cable rearward until stops, then release tab. Then, turn throttle body to full throttle and then you are reset.

Which shift?
The:
1-2?
2-3?
3-4?

Assuming the trans is healthy, and the tv system is adjused properly, and working correctly. Swapping springs in the accumulators, and playing with line pressures are your options. In other words, shift kit.
