It seems like cutouts are exactly what i want in my car. They are cheap and if i dont like them i dont have to pay to return to stock. During long road trips on the highway i'll just cap em up and no resonance(and i can hear my passenger)
Where in the exhaust should they be installed. Is there room in front of the cats? What are the pros and cons of different locations? thanks
Ooo.. i would NOT put them in front of the cats unless you want to be wearing earplugs driving around. I had my exhaust off after the cats one time, and OMG .. that was loud as poopie! I couldn't imagine what that would be like ... plus i don't think you'd have enough back pressure and might burn a valve or two.
I would put them right before the mufflers if I were going to be putting some on. And if I were going to put some on, they would be the electric ones that I could control from inside the car :). I might think about doing that sometime, but I think the actuators are a little expensive.
Well, if your going to put them on, hide them well. As a retired "chippy" from Calif, I used to hand out a ticket or 2 if they could be seen. Out of sight , out of mind.....enough said.
