valve cover
I'm using NAPA for these. No problems yet.

Stock exhaust?

Intake/use "The Right Stuff" for the china walls. Dimpling the walls with a punch also helps to keep it from leaking.

I think you need new head bolts on the 96. I believe they were the type that torqued by the stretch method. Also, you may want to get the head gaskets for a Impalla. They are .010 thinner and raise compression a little.

I've used the fel-pro Q9966PT in the past. But I use the fel-pro Z1074 head gasket.I think it's an updated head gasket from the Q9966PT head gasket.I think the Z1074 is better JMO.There's plenty other head gaskets you can buy but that's what I use.

A 96 impalla SS. The gaskets are .010 thinner then the vettes. I ordered mine from the GM dealer. Also, dont forget you will need new headbolts on yours. I was able to reuse mine, but they changed head bolt types on the latter model LT1's to the stretch type. And they are a one time use bolt.
A lot of people just buy the AFR bolts.

So what your saying is Im not going to be able to use my headbolts that come with my heads? Mmm i guess since my engine overheated and i have antifreeze coming thru my exhaust chances are i stretched my head bolts...

The headbolts also stretched from being torqued when installed from factory? guess i need to head to my nearest speed shop...

Thanks for that info ..id been installing the same headbolts..
