Default intake manifold gasket replacement question

So I am in the process of doing this and notice that the middle intake ports are blocked off and the rear 2 are restricted by the gasket. Any reason behind this?? I just want to make sure I have the right gasket set. Thanks!

If you are doing your 86, on a L98 water runs through the intake manifold front & rear the rear gaskets have restrictor plates with a small hole they are ment to be used that way. here is a photo of the right gasket.

the niddle would be blocked of if egr gases are drawn through a pipe on the exhaust manifold. If you don't have that pipe you need gaskets with the center port open.
