Surging
Sometimes when I am in 6th gear at about 55-70 the car will buck a little and the tach will jump around a few hundred rpms and it feels like there is some sort of drive line lash. However if I am in 6th gear over 2k rpms (highway) than it wont do it.
Once in a while it will do it in other gears too but mostly if not 6th it is 5th. Again if the RPMS are up a little it wont do it.
The other day I went to get on it so to speak going up an on-ramp and I floored it in 3rd gear and it sort of hesitated, bucked, and then was fine.
I know the car sat for a while and I have been putting fuel injector cleaner through it, I even put in some octane booster, and some of that gunk stuff to get the system cleaned out. It seems to have gotten MUCH MUCH better but every once in a while it will do it.
I am changing the plugs and wires which I think could be the culprit or be contributing to this but I am just curious as if there could be something more.
The car runs great and gets good mileage so I cant imagine it is something serious. Oh and I am going to get the Opti-spark II from MSD for it as well.
If so you may be lugging the engine 55-75 in 6th is only 1200 to 1700 rpm and it is a .5 gear so it is a stout over drive gear.... shoot 5th is a decent .75 overdrive gear too.
If you have a 95 or 96 I'd skip the aftermarket opti and go for a OEM one instead.
Here is the best gear calc I've found on the internet.

5th gear hasnt done it in a while but it HAS happened. For a while it was all gears but if you would push in the clutch it would rev fine, it seems like it is just when a load is put on the engine at slow speeds. Oh and my car is a 94'.
