Default Paint problem

I posted this in car care also, but thought it may get a better response here:

I have clayed the spot; dunno if it's acid rain or not; any input would be appreciated from the paint pros out there.

Thanks...Coot

Default Re: Paint problem (Coot)

that looks like adic rain or bird droppings - ot COULD be the result of bugs... if the car came from Fl, I would blame unwashed love bugs.

whatever the cause, it has etched into your clear coat...

did the car come from the north east?

I don't think its gonna come out without repainting... not a stain that severe, at least. you might want to try Maguires Clear Coat Scrub. I was able to remove some serious stains in my moms car last summer...

this is before... see the oxidation on the finish? icky... some of the ick was caused by polishes that would not cut the oxidation. the far right of the photo shows the improvement already.

amazing. nice shine.. but some of the water and bird stains are still there. but it looked like a new car compared to the before!

the bottom line - the car went from being a 15' car to being a 5' car.

Thanks, Andy...starting to think a repaint is necessary. This is a NC car, no NE exposure that I'm aware of...
