I have a 1990 6 speed with 60,000 miles. When driving on the interstate for about 25 minutes the check engine light came on and the car starting bucking and shut off. It would start right up and turn off again. Pulled over and looked under the hood and everything looked OK. I was getting ready to call AAA and have it towed, but decided to try and start it again. It would start and run badly for about 1 minute and then turn off again. I was able to get to work by repeatedly starting and driving for 1 minute and then coasting for another 10 miles before arriving to work. After about 1 hour I got back in the car and drove home with no problems of any kind. The next day I pulled off the codes which were 15, 21, 22, 33, 43, and 53. The car had no codes stored before this happened. I put it on my scanner and everything seems to be fine. I cleared the codes and then drove it locally for about 30 minutes with no problems and no new or repeat codes. Now I am afraid this car is going to leave me stranded! Any ideas? Why would it throw 6 codes instead of 1. Is it because I kept trying to drive it?
