Default Got it nailed!

Well fellas I got her nailed down now. All the cells and RPM ranges are within 2 blm or right on 128. Pretty good I must say for a novice! just kidding. I did pick up some knock at cruise that I never experienced before. Seems to start around 1650 RPM and at very light load situations. Tomorrow I will pull some timing from that area on the RPM vs Load vs Spark table. I also have some around 2200 rpm and high load situations. I will take that out once the lower is taken care of. One thing at a time to keep track of things. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to do both at the same time. I am not trying to break any minimum burn records. I noticed that the car kinda hunts at idle in park any suggestions. I suppose I could increase the IAC counts there. Just wondering if you all have a suggestion to correct it. I am also running about 134 blm there. I think that is due to the screens in the MAF being removed, perhaps I will bump the %voltage correction at idle to straighten that out. I think I read that about 2 months ago somewere. Well thank you all for helping. I might also add the car feels REALLY strong now. I found an ooops when gathering the data though. I adjusted the TV cable a bit the other day after logging and tonight after logging and looking at the data, the throttle is only 65% open! WOW and it really felt like it was ripping. I'll have to get that straightened out tomorrow and try it out again. Can't wait! Thank you all for your help!

  Glad you're getting it worked out. I hope to be able to get some more readings from mine once I get it back from the shop AGAIN tomorrow or tuesday.

Glock,
yeah its really quite easy. You can really feel the difference too. Before with the stock chip it was probably just passing the gas right through and actually fouling the plug out at times, hence the huge bog I would feel at times. Tonight I will mess with the timing a bit. I wish I knew if I should reduce the timing a whole lot or what. I think I am going to just adjust it were I am getting knock and leave it at that. For now anyways. I have the base timing at 7* and once I get the knock taken care of I think I will play with that to see what the car likes. If it responds to more advance then I will go to the chip and try advancing everything some, if it like retard then I will go that path. I guess this is what they say about trial and error. Just have to come up with a game plan and see how it turns out. I'll keep posting and I hope you get your machine out of the shop soon. What did they say it was for sure. I thought it could be the wires like mine. Well let me know when you get programming. Not too many people *here* offer help when it comes to programming. Do you have any other good spots to go to besides the Thirdgen? Thanks

Third-gen is the best place for tuning, I'd check over there often.

Except if you run maf......
For the high blm at idle-I already tried the "injector pulse width correction vs. batt. voltage". It just made me chase my tail! It's no big deal to change the maf tables. If it's 8% leaner than 128 at 8 gps-then just add 8% to the 8gps; plug that # in the maf table. If the lean spot falls between values on the chart, split the diff. I think you'll find that'll nail it quick. Keep havin' fun!

Guys,
hey thanks for the advice! I will try that with the idle condition tonight. Also for the spark what do you think, logical way of doing things? I figure that will tell me an overall *story* of what the car wants. If there is a better way, please share! Thanks again!

Hey there Paul!
How is everything? Yeah I am getting it slowly but surely. There are tons of minor details that need addressed. I am having a hell of a time with the timing curves. I am trying to get some new chips for programming with. When I do I am going to send you one with the programming changes you requested before. I still have no idea why that didn't work. Oh well.
Tonight I got pissed and ordered the upgraded Electronic spark control unit that is available for our cars. I think that much of the knock I am getting is from the headers and RR. That should addess that. Well fellas the women and child want some attention!
