I tore my car apart today to install some bosch III injectors. The pintle on my EGR valve didnt seal when closed,i noticed this when i was cleaning it.I have changed quite a few valves over the years and i have never seen one that didnt seal off.I checked the diaphram and it worked normally, but i think i need a new EGR.My car has a rough idle (cold) but seems to run fine down the road ,i hope this fixes it.So far i have changed.
Fuel filter
Spark plugs
Plug wires
Distr. cap
Rotor
Injectors
Coolant sensor
Fan temp sensor
Oil pressure switch
Thermostat,antifreeze
cleaned IAC motor
checked TPS,works correctly
Also afer a test drive my MPG AVG was around 18,before the injector change it would stay around 24 are these things accurate?

Are you getting a Service Engine Soon light on your DIC? If so, is it Code 32? If you see physical damage to your EGR valve diaphragm, I'd replace it. They're cheap enough.
Also, replace your PCV valve. It's an important, cheap, (though often neglected) part of your tune-up regimen and can also improve rough idle problems.
The PCV valve totally slipped my mind,i will change it today just to see.I am not getting a service engine light and the EGR diaphram is working with a vacuum gauge hooked to it. The pintle does not seem to seat and seal off the flow and that does'nt seem right to me so im gonna change the EGR.

It's also possible you have carbon buildup partially obstructing the EGR valve, but yeah, I'd go ahead and swap it our for a new one.
Just out of curiosity, have you removed it for inspection/cleaning or just verified its operation via Mityvac hand vacuum/pressure pump or other means?
