I know a 1990 convert is not a killer speed demon. I am just not getting what i use to get of it. Somrtimes it runs great then it warms up and is slow.
So I unhooked the KNOCK SENSOR and i got a SES light and it was really a dog...Pluged it in and it is better. I also saw that it looked like the sensor connector was not kinda broke?
i am also thinking Dist Cap and Rotor... and FUEL FILTER.

if it runs worse after warming-up, it could be the cooling system thermostat (too cold or too hot -- believe your year should be using a 195 degree F thermostat) or it could be the O2 sensors and/or a bad plug or wire (or two).
Once the engine warms up, it usually goes into 'closed loop' (i.e. O2 sensors are used by computer to help control fuel injection) -- if the O2 sensors are reporting a rich condition when it's either ok or lean, then it would cause the PCM to lean out the mixture, possibly effecting performance.
THe above can be made worse when a bad plug or wire (or two) exist as that cylinder will dump raw fuel causing the O2's to really sense a rich condition, when the other cylinders are ok...
It has to be something else. Any ideas out there ?
Well, I had an issue with my TPS and IAC. It was not set and worn.
I had start probs, sluggish at WOT, Hesitated, Just didnt run right at all.
Set all 3 and now its much better but im still waiting on a new TPS then i will reset and go!
do a good comprehsive tune up. plugs, plug wires, rotor, rotor cap, air filter, fuel filter, oil and oil filter. Do this first, then worry about everything else.
