You have to get a chip burnt. Not sure why you are hitting the rev limiter at 160 though. I assume you are turning more than 5800 rpms in 5th. No other way around it.

youll need a chip set to do it, but if youre hitting the limiter in 6th, you might want to have your engine built to take it higher than your current limit. Like Titanium retainers and such.

Re: URGENT nedd help with rpm limiter (SupaVette)
I have all the right stuff in my motor to take the limiter up to 7500, but all i need is 6800, then i won't have to change my pulley on the blower. My limit is 5500 according to the dyno we tested it on and after working out the ratio with my pulleys, at 5500 my blower is way under the max effieciancy  if i can get it to 6800 it will be perfect :D by the way, i'm hitting the limiter in fifth and it is not long enough to change to six and still pull the speed up.

Well, if you're running a blower setup, then you already have (or should have) custom programming and the person that did the programming needs to update it for a higher rev limiter. If it is hitting the rev limiter at 5500, the person who did the programming screwed up as that is lower than stock.
