Car is running like ****
First noticed when I had the transmission rebuilt. The only change that was made was the transmission. The outer insulation for the tv cable is worn off in one spot. Could that cause my transmission to not downshift when needed and feel like a loss of power?
Secondly, I changed the sending unit for an 86. I used the original fuel pump and changed the filter on it. Now, when I first crank it up while cold, it stumbles and chops (back and forth from 7 to 900 rpm). When it warms up to operating temp, it idles fine, but when I take it down the street and get down on it, the acceleration is horrible. I almost feel like it is not getting the right amount of fuel.
Help me before I light it on fire.

1. Checked to see if it is throwing a code, none.
2. Double checked all spark plug wires, all tight and away from heat.
My next step is to check fuel pressure, MAP sensor, and cut out the cats (no emmision testing in my state).
Any suggestions?
