Has anybody had this problem on the lower bolt? There isn't room to get any tools in that area to get it out. I've put penetrating oil on it, but it doesn't make a difference.
The bolt head is not rounded off, right?
This is what I did on my 90 w/J55's.
If the head is intact you need a medium deep or a shallow socket in 1/2" drive. You have to use a breaker bar as it is the only thing that will fit. It takes some patience to position the socket just right so you can get the bar on the socket. I had the car up on stands about three or four clicks up from closed. It isn't gonna be a quick thing either. You'll be lucky to get enough swing to get maybe a 1/4 turn at a time, maybe less. It took me at least 15 minutes to get it loose enough to get it to the point that I could put a box wrench on it.
The reason the bolt will not move is probably because the person before you used the tread locker liquid for heavy bolts and the only way to get that stuff loose is to heat it with a torch. I don't recall how hot it has to get to release the bolt but it needs to get fairly hot...WW
