Default Code 32 problem / question

I commute about 45 miles one way to work and my 1990 6-speed with 89000 miles recently started throwing a code 32 service engine soon light after 20 or so minutes of driving. The engine continues running just fine at idle and at speed with no other problems. Then, after another 20 minutes of continuous driving, the light goes out and stays out the rest of the trip? This happens every day on my way into work and on the return trip home. Most of the normal components and tune-up parts have been replaced recently and as I said, the car runs great with no other problems....... Any ideas?

Code 32 is the code for an EGR problem. When I removed my EGR it would throw the code when it went into closed loop mode (maybe 20 minutes of driving)

I realize that I'm referring to a different year (mine's an '85) so the EGR valve set up might look a little different, but I had this same situation happening. When I got down to the EGR valve, it seemed to test fine with vacuum but the EGR switch that screws into the base of the EGR valve was loose. I think that was the problem, however since I had it torn down to that point I installed a new EGR valve and EGR switch. The code setting never returned. The shop manual takes you on a diagnostic path and there are certain operating parameters that need to be met before the code gets set - I think normal operating temp and duration of either a set speed or rpm are at least 2 of the parameters. It is typical that the code 32 gets set after a few minutes of highway driving

On my 1996, OBD11 When I had an equivalent code, I changed the EGR valve (after a year) and it was over...no more codes.

P.S. I really hate this computer, I'm in Riverside California on a no fun mission.
