I have a car with a early style window ribbon regulator in it. I want to convert it to the later style scissor style ribbon. How long would it take for a skilled mechanic with the right tools to do it? I have instructions and tools. Just need a time estimate please & thank you.
The later style regulator is all GM has available now. MAD sells a lifetime regulator.
Plan 2 hours a side if you can get the window to go to the middle position. Else the window bolts (3) are darned impossible to get to, and your hands will get pretty cut up on the sharp edges inside the door - ask me how I know. Most of your time is spent readjusting the window for correct fit. While you're at it, you might as well replace the top outer door wipers.
