Default unnecessary anything

We just got a 1990 Corvette, with a 6 spd manual and ac. Will probably end up getting rid of ac, but still anywhere you look in the engine bay, there is a wire, hose, or smog piece of ****. What all can I safely get rid of, to clean up the engine bay, and make things a little bit easier to work on?

Oh and my car dies at idle, needs alternator, and doesn't have cats, meaning there is no line to the egr from the cat.

Do you need to keep the car smog legal or not? A good amout of the stuff you're looking at is for smog compliance. If you don't need it, you are halfway to a race car.

I am in collin county TX, and it looks like they don't check the equipment visually, but they do do a hydrocarbon reading. I will eventually do some good headers, run into a high flow cat, and dual mufflers. Will I need the smog equipment, even with a good cat?
