Car & Driver, FWIW, showed a 0-60 time of 5.1 seconds for a '95 with the 6 speed tranny. Quarter mile was 13.7, can't remember the mph, I think it was 101. I'm sure it varies with different drivers and cars, but that's what they got.

Doh! I just reread your posting and now see that you are asking about an auto, not manual. Oh well, should be close anyways.
hmmm - i've run ALOT of 0-60 mph (0 - 100 kmh) and my best is 6,7 with 1/4 full tank and gm1 (slow gears). :smash: besides 0-60 time my car feels really strong - ran it to 155 mph a month or two ago.... guess it need a tune up...
DanielDK, I was wondering how you got that number (gtech?) because it seems really slow. No offence. I am asking because I tried to get a ballpark of where my 0-60 time was by using my watch and I am in the high 6's also.
Are cars were tested at 5.7 seconds and we shouldn't be that far off...even with 100k miles. I did get a little tire spin but I was hoping for around 6 seconds at least.
My 1996 lt1 auto with 2.59 is usually between 5.1 and 5.3 with the g-tech. If I get the right temp (where it's warm enough for the tires to stick and outside air cool enough...about 60deg) I can get 0-60 times in the 4.9 range. My car's best 0-60 improvment was getting rid of the terrible run flats!!!!! With those I could not break 5.4 because of hookup issues. Best times seam to be with 3/4 full tank.

Re: 0 to 60? (Daniel DK)
The watch method has too many variables. Speedometers are rarely accurate nor is the rate of update. Couple this with hitting the gas .3 secs too late and start timing .3 secs too early and your LT1 is suddenly a "dog".

that's a 5th wheel. The Gtech looks sort of like a radar detector, and is basically an accelerometer with a digital display and built in logic to translate g-force into time-to-distance.
I have a program that can calculate your exact 0-60 mph time if you give me the following information:
Full timeslip
Did you stage shallow, average or deep on the above timeslip.
Auto or stick (What tranny)
gears
approxmiate weight of vehicle
What rpm do you shift.
