There must be info out there available on the secrets of repairing CD players/Boise system. I know get rid of the Boise! But someone must know how to open up the case, make adjustments, and oh yes "Don't look at the light" and probably a sticker not to tamper with under penality of law like your mattress! Cassette plays ok, but won't play a cd or accept it. '93

To repair CD players requires a lot of knowlege about electronic circuits and if you don't have that knowlege, it would be very difficult to try to explain to someone via email how to go about doing the repair. You first must isolate the system you are having trouble with. If a disc won't be accepted by the player you concentrate on the transport mechanism. If it is accepted but doesn't play audio, then you see if the disc is rotating and if not, work on that circuit. If it is rotating then you have to see if there are pulses coming from the photodiode pickup and follow the signal though the circuits all the way to the speakers. Its about as complicated as talking a passenger through landing a 747 because the pilot and copilot are incapacitated.
I would recommend this book if you have a background in electronics.
