from Tuff Dawg Engines
make the a good job please let me know
because i am a greenhorn about this company
please let me know your opinion

sorry for my bad englisch
thanks a lot Jochen

this is the answer what i get

you are looking to upgrade that old, tired 350 and bolt in extra horsepowerfor your 91 Corvette, this aluminum head Chev 383 stroker crate engine by Tuff Dawg Engines would be an EXCELLENT engine! With 440HP @ 5250rpm and 480 ft lbs of torque @ 4500rpm it has a fairly smooth idle with a lope, and good all around power. It works well with either a manual or automatic transmission. This TPI fuel injection engine will run on leaded or unleaded premium pump fuel and pass emissions.
The balanced rotating assembly (typically includes crankshaft, pistons, rings, connecting rods, rod bearings, and balancer) featured in this engine:
3.750" stroke crank
5.7" forged rods with ARP rod bolts
10 to 1 compression hypereutectic pistons
More special features of this engine include:
Seasoned 4-bolt main block
New CompCams hydraulic roller cam with .530"Int/.536"Exh valve lift
Aluminum tuned port heads with 1.94"Int/1.500"Exh stainless valves with undercut stems for improved flow
New 1.250" high performance springs setup to match cam
New Chrome moly retainers and hardened keepers
New High temperature positive valve seals
New Valve guides
New 4140 screw-in rocker studs
New CompCams 1.6 roller tip rocker arms with ***** and nuts
New Hardened push rods
New Hardened guide plates
New Perfect Circle rings
New Heavy duty timing set
New High volume oil pump with welded big pickup screen and steel drive shaft and steel guide
New 1-pc design molded rubber oil pan gasket with load limiters to prevent over-tightening and higher temperature resistance than standard cork-rubber gaskets
New Brass expansion plugs
All parts are painted separately before assembly for show quality looks
No need for a special flywheel or flexplate like other 383's you see, this engine is balanced so that you can reuse the flywheel or flexplate off of your engine
This engine requires you to use a modified computer chip, throttle body, injectors, and adjustable fuel regulator(Not included)
This engine comes completely assembled with oil pan, timing cover, harmonic balancer, valve covers, and an aluminum TPI intake manifold.
From the time we receive payment it takes 15 business days to build this engine. It is $4295.US.

Are you asking our opinion of that shop, or of their list of parts?

I have never heard of this shop, so I cannot offer an opinion.
The parts list is not specific enough to determine if it is good quality, or value.

Balancers, for example run from $40-$350 which one is he using?
Oil pans run $25-$400, but he does not list which one.
Those are 2 examples, but apply to every part he has listed.

$5,500.00 should buy you alot of engine, especially if you are not including shipping in that budget.

Jochen,
I have a friendship with a very good engine builder. However, shipping is a problem. Before I say more, let me see if he can overcome the shipping difficulties.
I have a few questions for you.

1) Where in Europe are you located?
2) What are you looking to build?
Fun Street Car?
Drag Race car?
Roadracer?

3) What are your power requirements?
4) What fuel would you normally run?
5) What powerband are you looking for?
High RPM?
6000 RPM max?
low end torque?

A good plan is first needed before any purchase.

I run the same superram and throttle body on my 87 automatic coupe.
Your goals are very reasonable, and should be easy to accomplish provided you are willing to tune your own car, or find someone capable who can. Because your car is a MAP (speed density) equipt car, it does not permit many mods without custom tuning. Building a strong running 383 for your needs should fall well under your budget.
