Upper Ball Joint Replacement, 1987
Where is the most reasonable place to get an upper ball joint, similar to the factory?
Part numbers and expected pricing?

Just bought mine from
summitracing.com for about $75.00 ea. Moog. I'm not sure of the parts number....there is a post I started last week that gives you the #'s. Do a search.
Hope this helps,

I'm installing upper and lower ball joints along with polygraphite bushings. The whole kit is $249 from
www.p-s-t.com and also contains the tie rod ends.

Does the MOOG part look very similar as the factory?
I got one from Advanced Auto, and they weren't even close (trw?). Even they couldn't figure how the separate boot was retained and sealed.
Have you installed them yet to check for proper fit?

Factory replacements come as the A-arm assembly with the ball joint rivited in place. Whatever you get aftermarket you will need to drill off the old ones and bolt on the new. I not sure on the avaiability of the A-arms from GM my guess is not avail. :seeya

Yes, I have already removed the ball joint. However, having removed it, I was wondering if the aftermarkets are similar to the one removed.
The one from Advanced was not close.
How do the other aftermarkets compare?

The PST ones look like the originals except for nuts and bolts instead of rivets.
Here's how it looks:
I also degreased and polished all the removable aluminum parts.
